You looked sad while you were sleeping As if you were having a bad dream I am right here Right beside you I won't be going anywhere ~ Yuya Matsushita: Bird (Kuroshitsuji II ED Song) PV/MTV: [link]
My geek talk: I've finally gotten a proper light meter: Sekonic Flashmate L308s, and a film scanner: Epson v700. I was at war with the film scanner the entire day since the afternoon (it's presently 6:30am in the morning here and I haven't slept a wink. I'm pretty much very cranky so yeah.) and after countless of angst, trial and errors, I finally managed to get somewhat a decent scan? Downside was well, I managed to leave a couple of scratches on the film + there were really persistent dust particles that refuse to leave the negative no matter what I did, from using anti-static cloth to wipe it away, to using compressed air to blow the particles away.
So I spent nearly 3 hours photoshopping the dust and scratches. Before anyone argue that I could have use the SilverFast, Digital ICE etc software that was with the scanner, well, I tried it and I had to compensate something if I did that: Clarity/sharpness =/ Something which I'm rather anal about.
I've learnt from this mayhem, somewhat. And the second frame that I've scanned in earlier just now was much better than this one. It was a different shot though.
Even though it's scanned at an awesome 3200 DPI (That makes about 47 megapixels), somehow, I still feel that it wasn't as clear as the low-res ones from the photo lab which was only at 72 DPI. .___.
But well, you can't beat professional lab drum scanners. They pwn big time D: Sadly, they cost lots of monies too >_>
On an LOL ending note, *Togusa208 came over my house today to set up the scanner with me (Well, technically I set it up myself cause he was late AS USUAL -____- ) and basically, we created a clusterfuck mess in the inner living room of my house LULZ - [link]
Doll Name (type): Cream (LUTS Harang) x Snowflake (DoT Sha) - THEY ARE BOTH GUYS. Owner: ~chibimeli Photographer/Editor: Me Film Stock: Kodak 160NC (expired) metered at 100ASA Camera Used: Hasselblad 500C/M, Carl Zeiss f2.8 80mm Lens Scanner: Epson v700
How lovely that the tombstones turned out similar-size for the dolls (from this POV) and appeared like fences in the back garden (ok, at least to me).
I'm just errr a little annoyed that the watermark has to coincidentally smack right there and block all expression of the doll >_> To me, the touch of the photo would have come out better if I can see the doll's face more clearly... But oh well, I understand that there's always biatches who rob awesome jobs like this and there's a need to protect your work. But those people also happen to rob away my current sole enjoyment of appreciating art, zzzzz.
Oh don't bother 'cos I won't be going Toycon (whenever/wherever that is) and I've spent every single cent in my bank account on my hospital bill oTL Now I know those moving beds are VERY expensive to sleep on...
If there are less/no art-thieves on the net, we can share works on bigger size and/or without watermarks. How pleasant to the eyes *_*
